Postgres usage plans
A usage plan's price buys an account, and the compute or the queries are metered on top, so its monthly figure is the least you pay rather than what a size costs. That is why Neon and Prisma Postgres are listed here with their rates and not ranked against a database of a stated size.

Who sells managed Postgres
How we count
The default database for a new app, priced by the RAM per node. A size is the RAM per node, counted as 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 or 64 GB when it is within a quarter of it; a node between two of them is on the browse page. Each row here is the cheapest paid Postgres of its size.
A single node is one server. A database with a standby is two nodes or more, a primary and the copies that take over if it fails, and the price on the row is for all of them, so the two are never in one list. The typical single node costs $15.23/GB RAM a month.
Frequently asked
- What is the cheapest managed Postgres?
- DigitalOcean Basic, $15.15 a month for 1 GB of RAM on a single node, checked 21 Oct 2026. With a standby, the cheapest is Akamai Cloud (Linode) at $37 a month.
- How much more does a Postgres with a standby cost?
- A standby is a second copy of the database on its own node, which takes over if the first fails, and you pay for both. Size for size, the cheapest standby pair here costs about 140% more than the cheapest single node. Each size's page lists both.
- What does the monthly price include?
- The nodes and the disk the row states, for a month, excluding tax. Disk beyond that, backups beyond the allowance and outbound transfer are billed on top wherever the provider says so, and each provider's page carries those rates.
- How current are these prices?
- They are read every day from each provider's own price list or API; the readings on this page are from 21 Oct 2026.
