What the invoice adds
What each provider in this list bills beyond the monthly price, as it publishes it. None of it is in the prices above.
- Aiven
- Publishes no metered rates beside its prices, which is not the same as charging nothing for them.
- Akamai Cloud (Linode)
- Publishes no metered rates beside its prices, which is not the same as charging nothing for them.
- Civo
- Extra disk not published; backup storage not published; outbound transfer free.
- Crunchy Bridge
- Extra disk $0.10 per GB a month; backup storage free; outbound transfer free. Crunchy Data says its prices include backups and data transfer.
- DigitalOcean
- Extra disk $0.21 per GB a month; backup storage not published; outbound transfer not published. Disk beyond a size's included minimum, per GB a month, on Standard Edition clusters; $0.12 on Advanced Edition; standby nodes pay for their own copy.
- Fly.io
- Extra disk $0.28 per GB a month; backup storage not published; outbound transfer not published. Storage is metered on what the databases use, by the hour; private network transfer between regions is billed at the Machine rates.
- Heroku Postgres
- Publishes no metered rates beside its prices, which is not the same as charging nothing for them.
- OVHcloud
- Extra disk $0.41 per GB a month; backup storage not published; outbound transfer not published. Extra disk is the Production rate, per GB a month; €0.29 on Discovery, €0.44 on Advanced.
- PlanetScale
- Publishes no metered rates beside its prices, which is not the same as charging nothing for them.
- Render
- Extra disk $0.30 per GB a month; backup storage not published; outbound transfer not published. Outbound transfer counts against the workspace plan's bandwidth allowance.
- Scaleway
- Extra disk $0.11 per GB a month; backup storage 3.4¢ per GB a month; outbound transfer not published. Every database needs a Block Storage volume, billed by the GB: the rate shown is 5K IOPS storage; faster 15K IOPS storage costs more.
- Supabase
- Extra disk $0.13 per GB a month; backup storage not published; outbound transfer 9¢ per GB. The Pro plan's rates, beyond the disk each size includes and 250 GB of transfer a month.
How we count
A size is the RAM per node, counted as 64 GB when it is within a quarter of it. A single node is one server. Two nodes or more are a primary with the standbys that take over if it fails, and the price on the row is for all of them. The size is per node, because that is what your queries get.
A price is what one month costs, in the provider's own currency converted to dollars, excluding tax. A price read for the first time, or that moved a lot, is marked while a second reading checks it, and gives the lead to a price that is confirmed or a week old whenever the list has one.
Frequently asked
- What is the cheapest managed 64 GB Postgres?
- DigitalOcean Basic Premium AMD, $782.20 a month on a single node, checked 21 Oct 2026. With a standby, DigitalOcean Basic Premium AMD at $1,564.40 a month.
- Do I need a standby for Postgres?
- A standby is a copy on its own node that takes over if the primary fails, so your app does not go down with one server. You pay for every node. A single node suits you where some downtime and a restore from backup are acceptable.
- Why do 64 GB Postgres prices differ so much?
- Single nodes here run from $782.20/mo to $1,665/mo for the same RAM, because what comes with it differs: the vCPU, whether the CPU is shared, and the disk, from 1 GB to 1700 GB. Each row says what it includes.
- How current are these prices?
- They are read every day from each provider's own price list or API; the readings on this page are from 21 Oct 2026. Prices exclude tax.
