Dedicated server data health.

Every 3 days a GitHub Action reads 6 providers without a single credential, from their public price lists and keyless APIs. Each result is checked against the one before it. A fetch that fails or looks broken is refused, the last good reading keeps the section up, and the provider is named here with its own date.

The last refresh read 6 of 6 providers live on 31 Oct 2026, covering 984 servers on 197 CPU models. 23 more servers were left out because nobody could source their CPUs.

Prices being checked

A price that moves 30% or more, or would reach a top three, waits for a second reading at least 12 hours later and is checked against the provider's own page, and so is one that fails a check or that a reader reports. Meanwhile the server shows its last confirmed price and leads no list. Today 4 are waiting for a second reading and 7 differ from the provider's page.

CPUs we could not source

A server is listed only when its CPU's figures come from the chip maker's own page. These CPUs are named by a provider, but no maker's page for them could be read, so their servers are left out until one is.

How the numbers are protected

  • Only fetched numbers. An adapter throws on anything it does not recognise, and nothing is typed in by hand.
  • A broken read is refused. A fetch whose row count falls below half the last one, or whose median monthly price in any one currency moves more than 2.5 times either way, is rejected and the previous reading kept.
  • A changed price waits. A move of 30% or more, or into a top three, shows once a second reading agrees, and a first place goes only to a price confirmed or a week old.
  • A CPU is the maker's. Cores, clocks, cache, power and launch come from AMD, Intel or Ampere, never from a provider's listing, and a CPU nobody can source costs its servers their place rather than being guessed.
  • The setup fee is counted. Every price is a month over the first year: the monthly price plus a twelfth of the setup fee. 620 servers come from providers that state no fee, and say so.
