Describe the job, we'll shortlist the models

337 text models · prices read 16 Sept 2026

Plain words in, three models out, with what each one would cost you a month at the volume you name and the reason it is on the list.

1 · Read

A small, cheap model turns your sentence into requirements: the job, how much of it, the context you need, whether it has to call tools or read images, what you can spend, and who you will or will not buy from. Without an API key, keyword rules do the same job a little more literally. Your words are read once and dropped.

2 · Rank

Plain code in your browser filters today's prices and ranks what is left on what the work costs, not the price per million tokens, with the same assumptions the use-case guides state. The model never picks.

3 · Explain

Every pick carries the number it is there for, and the panel says what would change the answer if you dropped a requirement or raised the budget. Open all three side by side in the compare tool.
